Nuclear fission should consist of only 10% of the worlds energy supply.No new nuclear power plants should be constructed and thus existing power plants can be converted into molten salt reactors with excess and abandoned ones converted into homes as the area is converted to geothermal.
Existing reactors should be replaced with newer ones composed of Vandium or graphene burners that utilise these technologies while they are functioning to prevent disruption of energy flow and the old one recycled with this and the addition of graphene watertight doors etc done to improve the lifespan of existing and new ones longer than 40 years,theoretically as long as several centuries by AI with the plant AI,robots,biosynths routinely renovating them and replacing old burners with newer ones to make them last until all fuel is used up with them also adding new safety measures to prevent damage from natural disasters including moving the reactor and coolant systems underground.Improvements in nanomaterials of all 94 elements and Biosynthetic technology will replace Hafnium and all other expensive elements in their construction reducing there costs with it also used to exponentially increase their lifespan by centuries,thousands,millions or even billions of years of not forever Molten salt reactors reuse waste nuclear fuel that produces secondary waste with a shorter half life that stays radioactive for hundreds of years not hundreds of thousands of years and power their existing regions until all existing radioactive waste currently in storage is used until well beyond the next century producing 500 megawatts(enough to power roughly 500,000 homes) of electricity per plant at roughly 25-48% of the cost of conventional nuclear power plants leaving existing reserves of virgin uranium in the ground and then have the plants decommissioned and used for homes,factories and other purposes.This would use up existing reserves of spent fuel for energy to power there regions for until at least the mid to late 28th century or even for the next few hundred years and leave existing supplies to be reserved for other uses and cut down on energy costs in extracting and transporting the energy since the waste merely has to be transported from nuclear storage facilities around the world to the plants without mining for virgin uranium fuel and in fact can be stored on site in extensions of power plants until it is all used with waste facilities renovated into homes each nuclear power plant through roof extensions housing molten salt burners to allow them to burn the waste.Once virgin material is burned the waste will be through robots etc be transported to radioactive material with a lower half life with if possible research made into tertiary reactors that can burn this secondary waste into even less radioactive material with a shorter half life that can be more easily cleaned using bacteria,filters etc.All molten salt and tertiary reactors would ideally be hybrids between both liquid Sodium and fast breeder reactors that produce more energy and less waste.Ideally all remaining stores of nuclear waste will be sent to all nuclear power plants in their country and others in the world with all remaining nuclear power plants converted into hybrid molten salt ones that burn virgin fuel and also waste fuel.If a power plant reaches the end of its life cycle it could be renovated via machinery and the plant AI with new burners,safety features and machinery installed in extensions so as to allow the area holding the old burners to be torn down or used for other uses with these then replaced by newer ones in place of the original in a looped cycle alternating between the two done by automated machinery.Otherwise burners could be replaced with graphene and Vandium ones to increase their lifespan with these also replacing rare exotic metals such as Hafnium.Each countries reserves of waste including those that are buried underground,in buildings and in mountains and mines will collected by automated machinery and will be shared equally between the nuclear power plants in their country or across the globe that has one ensuring all countries that have converted molten salt reactors can use a bountiful supply with as stated before these reserves stored onsite of the power plant ideally in sealed underground bunker extensions that use thick layers of smart healing foamcrete to prevent damage from any natural disasters and allowing automated machinery to transport it to the reactor when it is needed.The plant AIs of all plants AI through Steropes can interact with each other to trade fuel if supply exceeds demand or an environmentally sustainable way the secondary waste disposed of in a good way as to the old adage waste not want not then allowing them to be converted into homes.Intensive research will be made into more efficient reactors using nanomaterials and biosynth technology that can increase the lifespan and efficiency of burning uranium,plutonium and thorium.Nuclear warheads can also be dismantled and used as a source of fuel that can the be used as a secondary source of fuel.Measures to turn the secondary waste into inert compounds are be broken down by bacteria can also be done on site with the drums then cleaned and then recycled for other uses.Remaining reserves of Uranium,Thorium and Plutonium in the crust would be mined by Plutus with those underneath protected areas mined by borers creating tunnels with those from seawater collected by boats and desalination plants.Existing nuclear waste fuel will be shipped from where they are stored to be burned and the storage areas either All waste in Sellafield and other waste treatment plants will be either used as secondary and tertiary energy or undergoe the aforementioned means of reusing them and cleaning them with all secondary and if possible tertiary waste of all kind be reused in all possible ways.All of the worlds nuclear waste stored in bunkers and in reprocessing plants like Sellafield will be shipped to nuclear power plants that contain molten salt reactors and normal reactors with the waste stored in extensions.Research can be done into creating tertiary breeder reactors that turn this secondary waste once used by the molten salt reactors that can be burned as fuel once again creating tertiary waste that has lower radioactivity,shorter half life and can be degraded by G.metallireducens more efficiently with this done primarily by Steropes,Gaia,Urania and Hecate.If one would would want to continue to burn remaining reserves of uranium in the Earths crust and oceans one could build and renovate existing reactors into multi power plants that have fast breeder reactors using liquid Sodium fast breeders that burn virgin uranium,plutonium and thorium fuel and then have molten salt reactors onsite of these that automatically transfer the waste to them an then burn the secondary waste to produce even more energy with any other waste dealt with through various strains of G.metallireducens onsite or theoretical tertiary breeder reactors onsite.Otherwise these three types of reactors can be in areas next to each other ie a city is powered by liquid Sodium fast breeders that burn all three fuels and a nearby city has a power plant converted into molten salt reactor that burns the waste from this and then sends the waste from these to a theoretical tertiary reactor in another close city and then has bacteria onsite to degrade it with each country that has nuclear power plants have an amount in sets divisible of three or two depending on what is possible to allow this to be done with excess ones converted into geothermal power plants or extra ones built to accommodate this with interactions between the power plants and Steropes being constant and automating the extraction and transfer of fuels.Other burners can be developed using nanomaterials,biosynth technology in time that generate different rounds of energy from each successive round of nuclear waste that exponentially combined together to improve efficiency and energy output and also extend the lifespan of the fuels.Research will be made into tertiary breeder reactors with all nuclear waste recycled for commercial purposes.If possible more breeders after tertiary breeders may be required to break it down further with as stated research done into this as Helium reserves are limited on Earth and due it being able to escape the atmosphere with this providing at least 340,000 years worth of Helium-3 before picotech fabricators are perfected with negating the need to mine the Moon for it which only has a few thousand years worth of reserves of it and would be a good way to use nuclear waste into a useful rare element vital to medicine.Waste both primary or ideally secondary from molten salt reactors and Sellafield once not needed by having bacteria break down the uranium etc will be converted in communal homes or communities once deemed safe and bioremediated though if not they will be maintained by
